Sibling Support Group

The Siblings That Are Really Special (S.T.A.R.S) Club is modelled after Sibshops®, originally run by the Sibling Support Project, Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, Seattle, Washington, and now run by many other organisations worldwide. It seeks to provide opportunities for brothers and sisters of children with special needs in Singapore to obtain peer support and education within a recreational context.

The Club offers siblings with opportunities to meet other siblings in a relaxed and recreational setting to discuss shared joys and concerns, learn how these siblings manage situations, the implications of special needs and for parents and other professionals to learn more about the concerns frequently experienced by siblings. It organises many fun-filled activities such as annual camps and workshops.
