About Volunteers
Be a volunteer

Bring smiles to the children with special needs at Rainbow Centre Singapore by getting involved! There are various opportunites for volunteering and we list a few of our needs below. If you need more information, please email us at partnership@rainbowcentre.org.sg.

We welcome volunteers as part of company/ corporate groups, school/ institutional groups, or individuals. Volunteers may choose to help in adhoc events, classroom help (e.g. assist teachers, cleaning of equipment, or help to maintain the school) or using their expertise (e.g. building/improving equipment, marketing, product design or assistive technology etc).

Rainbow Centre will try to match the skills of our volunteers with our operational needs. If there are any other areas you would like to be involved in, do have a discussion with our Volunteer Coordinator.

Volunteering Opportunities

Classroom support and Weekly outings – Classroom support needs to be regular hence the volunteers need to be able to commit for 3 to 6 months (either as an individual or as a group). This is because the students need to familiarise themselves with the volunteers, which will reduce the disruption to the class

Hydrotherapy  – Volunteers come regularly (e.g. weekly) to help with the hydrotherapy sessions in the pool. This is similar to helping in the classroom where the students need to be familiar with the volunteers who work with them

Events – Usually large-scale activities where more manpower is required but it is an adhoc/ a one-off session

Fundraising – Some volunteers come on board to fund-raise for Rainbow Centre, where they usually take care of all the details from planning through to execution

Clean up the classrooms – The volunteers would help in the mass cleaning of various classrooms and facilities during the school holidays

Professional – We welcome volunteers who are able to help us with their expertise such as, Medical - e.g. ear & throat doctors, eye doctors, who come once or twice a year to help run a checkup for the students; Dental -  where the current pool of dentists is coordinated such that there are visits once a month, or other specific skills in these areas but not limited to Therapy, Marketing, Branding, Product design/ management, Vocational partners, Sports, etc

We do support school groups looking for opportunities to fit into their Values in Action or other community involvement initiatives/ programmes.

We seek the understanding from all groups that volunteering activities will have to match with our current needs and availability, so as not to disrupt the current curriculum and school's programme. Do email us with your requests and proposals to partnership@rainbowcentre.org.sg.
