The dazzling colour scheme distracts us from the hidden message in this landscape. Two students are drawing out the contrast between the wooden huts of Singapore’s bygone past and the high-rise buildings in the background. This colourful piece pays tribute to our forefathers, whose toil under the sun as fishermen and farmers has contributed to building our nation: a city of modern comforts.
