Looking like a shanshui painting from afar, this is yet another clever use of the traditional Chinese ink painting style to deliver a typical scene from old Singapore. The Jurong area in the western region of Singapore used to be a vast swath of swamps, jungles and small fishing villages. This was before industrialisation turned the area into a modern estate.
