Approach
OOSH (Out-Of-School-Hours) provides care service for students with disabilities aged 7-18 years who are currently enrolled in a special education (SPED) school. It offers a nurturing and safe environment with activities aimed at cultivating the abilities of each student, while giving caregivers respite.

OOSH follows the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Guidelines for Special Student Care Centres and adheres to all relevant industry and workplace legislation.
Our staff are passionate about working with students with disabilities, and are continuously trained to deliver the best possible programmes and services.
Activities
- Supported by volunteers and community partners, students participate in daily living routines such as self-care, meals, and cleaning.
- Facilitated activities of the day to develop their interests and strengths include music and movement, leisure and food preparation.
Enrolment
01 – Eligibility Criteria
Applicants to OOSH should be:
- Aged 7 to 18 years, currently enrolled in a SPED school
- Diagnosed by a registered medical practitioner in Singapore to have Autism Spectrum Disorder, or an intellectual and/or physical disability
- A Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident
- Independent in all areas of daily living like toileting and feeding
- Able to participate in small group activities, and should not require one-to-one adult supervision
02 – Admission
- OOSH is offered at our Margaret Drive Campus.
OOSH (Yishun Park) is located at a 5-min walk away from campus at 615 Yishun Ring Road #01-3286 Singapore 760615
- All applications are made via Rainbow Centre’s Central Admissions Team. Please email oosh.admission@rainbowcentre.org.sg for the application form and Parent’s Handbook, or call 6817 9410 for enquiries.
- Transport arrangements are made between families and SPED schools.
- As of Apr 2024, both OOSH Centres are running at full capacity, with full waiting lists.
03 – Fees
The programme fees range from $11 to $552 per month depending on per capita family income and are subjected to prevailing GST rates at the time of application.
Holiday Surcharge fees for 2024: $11.34 per day (inclusive of 9% GST).
Operating Hours
OOSH opening hours are 8.15am – 5.00pm. Students attend a half-day programme before or after school during term time, and a full-day programme over the school holidays.
OOSH is closed on:
- Public holidays
- Eve of New Year’s Day, Chinese New Year, and Christmas
- Scheduled school celebration holidays
- Six days annually for centre cleaning and staff training
